Get a better night’s sleep

One thing that really annoys me these days is that I just don't sleep as well as I used to.

Speaking to other women over 50, we're all having the similar issues. Whether it be your hormones playing games, or you're getting restless legs as you lie down in bed, or you can't stay in bed past 5am, I get it. It turns out these things are quite common.

But it doesn't have to be like that every single night.

Some things I have found to really help me are:

  • Having an evening magnesium bath

  • No caffeine after 11am

  • Drinking a magnesium drink whilst in the bath, or with dinner

  • Not going to be with a full tummy - I stop eating a good 2-3 hours before bed

  • Having a probiotic after dinner to settle my tummy

  • Using a muscle rub on my lower legs before bed

  • Making sure I've exercised vigorously during the day

  • Having a small cup of sleep tea before bed

Of course there's melatonin, but I only use this if I have had a series of bad sleeps. Otherwise I try not to have it.

Tell me, what is your sleep like? And what have you found helps you get a good night's sleep?
